REINVENTION

Marc Cole
CEO

HQ: Newport Beach, CA
949-630-0479 • sgcreditpartners.com

By acquiring Stonegate Capital in the last year, SG Credit Partners took another step on its path of reinvention, as it now provides a comprehensive credit platform with both product and industry expertise to the lower middle market.

SG Credit Partners is a family office-backed lender providing situational capital to lower middle-market businesses and entrepreneurs requiring tailored solutions and certainty to close. The firm has established a broad and expanding credit platform to address capital needs traditional banks, non-bank lenders, single-product lenders and larger funds cannot meet due to regulatory, timing, funding or size constraints.

Last year, SG Credit Partners acquired Stonegate Capital, which originally began as an independent asset-based lender and progressed into a diversified credit investment platform with a particular focus on high-growth consumer brands, among other sectors. The acquisition broadened SG Credit Partners’ ability to widely serve the lower middle market with multiple debt solutions, including both revolving lines of credit and term loans. The acquisition truly reinvented SG Credit Partners from a niche lender to a national credit platform. The combined platform and the firm’s sector expertise allows the team to offer creative and flexible solutions which are uniquely delivered by a single lender.

Reinventing itself is a constant work in progress for SG Credit Partners, but the company recognizes the need to create a model that solves many of the inefficiencies existing in the lower middle market. Being able to offer multiple products that can be used on a standalone basis or in combination with each other is transformative for the company and its clients.

“Reinvention means thinking differently to grow, delivering new products other firms can’t, especially single-product lenders, and creating a culture that fosters change.”
