Regions Bank added Kafi Slaughter to serve as area wealth leader for private wealth management, guiding clients through comprehensive planning, customized investment strategies, fiduciary services, personalized financial guidance and banking and lending solutions across Houston, Austin, San Antonio and other rapidly growing markets in the southern half of the Lone Star State.

In addition to delivering tailored services to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, Slaughter and her teams will also work alongside colleagues in Regions’ consumer banking and commercial banking divisions to deliver Regions360 solutions. Through Regions360, teams from departments across the bank work hand-in-hand to take a more holistic view of individual clients’ needs.

Collectively, they present a wide range of customized options to help clients reach both short- and long-term goals. Slaughter will report to Connie Rogers, Texas regional executive for Regions Private Wealth Management.

“Texas means growth. Texas means opportunity. And as more businesses and professionals expand and relocate here, Texas is where Regions Private Wealth Management sees tremendous potential to introduce the Regions brand to more clients,” Rogers said. “Kafi and her teams combine local experience with a deep commitment to exceeding expectations, helping clients evolve their wealth strategies through custom insights and guidance. As a highly respected leader, and native Houstonian, Kafi’s experience will further differentiate how Regions focuses on client support in these strong and vibrant markets.”

Slaughter brings three decades of experience in private banking, business banking and wealth management to Regions. She most recently served as managing director, senior partner and private client advisor for Bank of America Private Bank. Prior to that, she served as senior vice president and senior wealth advisor for Wells Fargo Wealth Management. Earlier, Slaughter worked for U.S. Trust, Bank of America, Bank of Texas, Amegy Bank, Frost/Cullen, Fifth Third Bank and Northland Credit.

“Regions Bank has earned a reputation based on service and trust, and I am proud to join this team to both deepen our work with existing clients and introduce more people to what sets Regions apart,” Slaughter said. “People are more involved in their financial journeys than ever, from retirement planning, to business succession, philanthropic giving and beyond. Regions is proud to be a part of our clients’ major life milestones. It’s that high-touch, highly customized method of service that will continue to define how our teams prioritize the needs and goals of the people we serve.”

Slaughter graduated with a bachelor of science in economics and statistical analysis from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She completed the Women’s Leadership Program at Yale University’s School of Management Executive Education and is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute. Additionally, she holds FINRA-Series 7, Series 63 and Series 65 designations.

Slaughter is a fifth-generation Texan deeply devoted to community engagement. Her involvement includes the following:

  • Advocacy board member for the Baylor College of Medicine and the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she has helped raise a record-breaking amount for breast cancer research as chair of the annual Lights Out Cancer Gala
  • Founder and chair of the Aggie Impact Endowment Fund, a scholarship initiative to support Texas A&M University
  • Star of Hope Board of Trustees
  • Houston Symphony Board of Trustees

Previous volunteer service also includes the Alpha Kappa Alpha Literacy Foundation, First Tee Houston, and the Memorial Chapter of the National Charity League.
