CHICAGO – Red Arts Capital, an investment firm specializing in supply chain and logistics businesses, announced its acquisition of Freshway Foods, a trusted supplier of fresh-cut processing, repacking, transportation, and logistics services operating across the Eastern United States.

With deep expertise in the food and beverage industries, Red Arts aims to provide strategic, financial, and organizational support to enhance Freshway’s operations and strengthen its customer service capabilities.

A Legacy of Excellence and a Shared Vision for Growth

Freshway has a long history in the fresh food supply chain, with origins dating back to 1895. Red Arts recognized the company’s strong market position and family-owned business heritage, making the acquisition a natural fit.

Nick Antoine, Co-Founder, Co-CEO, and Managing Partner at Red Arts, stated:

“Freshway has an incredible history, and given Red Arts’ focus on family-owned businesses, we were drawn to its compelling story and unique place in the market. With existing synergies between Freshway’s operations and our experience across the food industry, it made immediate sense for us to join forces and support their growth journey.”

Continued Leadership and Operational Excellence

Freshway will continue to be led by Devon Beer, the company’s current President, who has been with the organization since 2000, previously serving as Chief Financial Officer. Under his leadership, Freshway has expanded its footprint and strengthened its market presence.

Beer expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating:

“I’m excited to work with Red Arts, a firm well-known and respected across the industry. Together, with the incredible team we have built over the years, I’m confident we will continue to lead in innovation and service.”

Seamless Transition from US Foods Ownership

Red Arts acquired Freshway from US Foods, a leading food supplier and distributor.

Chris Hull, Principal at Red Arts, noted:

“We are grateful to the US Foods team for their professionalism and collaboration throughout this process. Their support ensured a smooth transition, allowing us to focus on continuing Freshway’s legacy of exceptional service and operational excellence.”

With Red Arts’ strategic guidance and Freshway’s industry expertise, the partnership is well-positioned to drive growth, enhance operational efficiencies, and deliver superior service to customers.
