Quarles Elects 2025 New Partner Class

The new partners are Xheneta Ademi, Kelsey Bailey, Allison Bickford, Matt Burris, Kristin Foster, Chris Guthrie, Katie Hanes, Luis Lanz, Ryan Torres, Jeremy Wodajo and Kiel Zillmer.

National law firm of Quarles & Brady announced today that it has elected 11 new partners.

“At Quarles, partnership is not just a title. It is a recognition of character, judgment and of the trust we place in those to move the firm forward,” Mike Aldana, the firm’s managing partner and chair of the executive committee, said. “Each of these new partners has demonstrated not only excellence in their practice, but also the deeper qualities of integrity, collaboration and a commitment to others and to the firm’s success. Those qualities have always marked who we are as a firm and help make Quarles the special place it is to practice and work.”

The new partners are:

Xheneta Ademi, an intellectual property attorney in the Washington, D.C., office, guides clients through all phases of trademark and copyright protection, including clearance, prosecution, maintenance, enforcement, settlement and litigation. She also handles appeals, oppositions and cancellations at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. She earned a B.S. from University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and a J.D. from Marquette University Law School.

Kelsey Bailey, a Milwaukee-based member of the estate, trust and wealth preservation practice group, collaborates with individuals and families to craft estate plans that reflect their personal and financial goals. She counsels clients on sophisticated tax planning matters, charitable planning strategies and decision-making plans in the event of incapacity. Bailey also advises families and fiduciaries involved in trust and estate administration. She holds a B.A. and J.D. from Marquette University.

Allison Bickford, an intellectual property attorney in the Milwaukee office, guides her clients on trademarks, copyrights and trademark litigation. She protects their assets through the execution of global trademark filing and enforcement strategies. Bickford received a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

Matt Burris, a labor and employment attorney in the San Diego office, helps educational entities understand their legal obligations and address legal challenges at the local, state and federal level. He has experience advising and litigating on behalf of schools, colleges and universities on all issues affecting educational institutions in California and across the United States. Burris holds a B.A. from the University of Southern Mississippi and a J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

Kristin Foster, a litigation and dispute resolution attorney in the Milwaukee office, works on complex commercial litigation, representing clients in the financial services, health care and manufacturing sectors. She also conducts internal investigations and has represented clients in Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Department of Justice, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and Federal Trade Commission investigations. Foster has a B.A. from Northwestern University and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.

Chris Guthrie, a Madison-based health and life sciences attorney, guides clients on state and national health law matters. His experience includes health care transactions, government healthcare program provider enrollment and compliance, surrogate health care decision-making laws and federal and state regulatory compliance for manufacturers, wholesalers and dispensers of prescription drugs and medical devices. Guthrie earned a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, a M.S. from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, an M.B.A from Marquette University and J.D. from Marquette University Law School.

Katie Hanes, a member of the firm’s estate, trust and wealth preservation practice group in the Milwaukee office, works with clients to develop individualized estate plans and administer complex estates and trusts. She works closely with clients to prepare estate planning documents that are tailored to their wishes while minimizing taxes and administrative burdens. Hanes also works with corporate and individual trustees and personal representatives to administer trusts and estates, including the preparation of estate tax returns. She holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a J.D. from University of California Berkeley School of Law.

Luis Lanz, a health and life sciences attorney in the Phoenix office, assists health care entities with issues ranging from state and federal regulatory compliance and licensure to transactional matters. He represents health care providers, pharmacies, pharmacy benefit managers, wholesale distributors, third-party logistics providers and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Lanz has a B.S. from the University of Arizona and a J.D. from Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.

Ryan Torres, a member of the health and life sciences practice group in Indianapolis, advises clients on health care regulatory matters such as Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and Medicaid managed care, including federal and state statutory and regulatory compliance and litigation surrounding fraud, waste and abuse. He also handles enrollment denials and terminations, audits, overpayment determinations, reimbursement, agency sanctions, HIPAA, Anti-Kickback, Stark, government and internal billing investigations, and responses to record requests and subpoenas. Torres holds a B.A. from Purdue University and a J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Jeremy Wodajo, a business law attorney in the Madison office, provides transactional guidance on business law, real estate and commercial finance matters. He focuses on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other commercial transactions, including venture capital and growth equity investments, real estate and commercial loan transactions, corporate governance, insurance regulation and general corporate counseling. He earned his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Kiel Zillmer, a member of the health and life sciences practice group in Milwaukee, provides counsel designed to help health care entities achieve their business objectives while minimizing unnecessary risk, covering a variety of issues such as mergers and acquisitions, compliance with various fraud, waste and abuse prohibitions, and health care valuation processes and considerations. He also provides guidance on various real estate related matters. Zillmer holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, a M.S. from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and a J.D. from Marquette University Law School.
