Alvarez & Marsal added Paulo Mota as a managing director to its Global Transaction Advisory Group in Brazil.

Mota has over 20 years of international experience serving in leadership positions within the financial advisor area, including financial due diligence, valuation and M&A lead advisory, in a broad range of sectors.

“As domestic and cross-border transactions rapidly increase in volume and value, the need for seasoned advisors is crucial. Paulo’s experience advising domestic and foreign clients in significant acquisitions and divestitures will bolster our team’s ability to meet client needs in Brazil and Latin America,” said Fabio Pires, a managing director and practice leader in the Global Transaction Advisory Group in Latin America. “His appointment enhances our transaction advisory roots in Latin America and strengthens our transaction advisory cross-border capabilities.”

Paul Aversano, a managing director in A&M’s Private Equity Services practice and the Global Practice leader of the firm’s Global Transaction Advisory Group, said, “Our expanding transaction offering and M&A capabilities in Brazil is aligned with our global growth strategy. Paulo’s appointment demonstrates A&M’s commitment to an integrated approach that combines global breadth with experienced local teams.”

Mota most recently served as a partner at KPMG, where he supported fundraising for early stage companies and projects and advised on deal structuring and the valuation of companies. He also led due diligence projects in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Spain, the UK and Europe.
