Madison Street Names Alioto MD, Capital Markets

in People

Lawrence Alioto has joined Madison Street Capital as a managing director on its Capital Markets team. In this role, Alioto will advise clients in the technology sector on M&A and corporate finance transactions.

“As technology continues to become more pervasive and we see an increase in demand from companies within that sector, we felt it was important to bring someone on board with Lawrence’s strong tech background,” said Charles Botchway, CEO of Madison Street Capital. “As we prepare for our expansion to Austin, I foresee an even greater need for his unique expertise.”

Alioto began his career on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange as a currency futures and options trader and later worked as a registered representative at PaineWebber in San Francisco. In the late 1990s, Alioto moved into private equity finance and business development roles with two separate California based technology companies. From 2004-2013, he worked at VeriTainer, a developer of anti-terror maritime container radiation scanning systems. He was one of the founding principals and eventually served as the company’s president.

Since 2013, Alioto has successfully financed and developed a wide variety of business interests, ranging from medical devices to energy efficient technologies to film production. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors and is active in the management of Kaizen Oil, which is leveraging an enhanced oil recovery solution under an asset acquisition model. Alioto brings significant experience and expertise in finance, business development, corporate development and government affairs, having applied those skills both domestically and internationally.

“Tech industry M&A transactions present a unique set of challenges, and I am excited to help Madison Street Capital navigate them,” added Lawrence Alioto. “The work that Madison Street Capital does is especially important in this area because they are providing middle-market companies with the opportunity to grow and potentially become a major technology industry innovator.”

Madison Street Capital is an international investment banking firm with services including corporate financial advisory, merger and acquisition expertise, financial opinions, and valuation services to publicly and privately held businesses.
