Holland & Knight continues to strengthen its Corporate, M&A and Securities Practice Group with the addition of Hyung Soo Kim as a partner in New York. Mr. Kim will also be a key member of the firm’s Korea Practice Team. Before joining Holland & Knight, he was a partner at Arnold & Porter in its Seoul and New York offices.

Mr. Kim represents major multinational companies on the buy and sell sides of their domestic and cross-border transactions. He has extensive experience handling complex mergers and acquisitions and other innovative business combinations and arrangements, as well as the spectrum of related legal issues.

“Hyung Soo represents an exciting opportunity to enhance the cross-border capabilities of our leading corporate platform and globally recognized Korea Practice,” said David Cole, leader of Holland & Knight’s Korea Practice Team. “His considerable experience with complex M&A transactions and his strong relationships with major Korean companies and investors will significantly bolster our offerings to clients.”

“Hyung Soo’s recognition in the market will help us deepen and expand relationships with Korean private equity funds and prominent corporate clients alike,” said Amy Leder, executive partner of Holland & Knight’s New York office and co-chair of the Corporate, M&A and Securities Practice Group in the Northeast region. “We are thrilled to welcome him to Holland & Knight.”

Mr. Kim leads corporate transactions with an emphasis on enhancing economic benefits, corporate protections and effecting timely closures. He advises the executive leadership of multinational companies across a broad spectrum of industries and geographies on an array of legal and business concerns, manages all aspects of transactions, and guides clients to desirable outcomes. Additionally, Mr. Kim has strong skills in drafting, reviewing and negotiating M&A transactions and other key contracts and business agreements.

“Holland & Knight’s expansive geographic footprint offers me substantial opportunities to grow my practice,” said Mr. Kim. “The Firm’s entrepreneurial and collaborative culture is an added benefit that will only help me better serve my clients. I’m excited to begin working with my new colleagues and contributing to the Firm’s continued growth.”

Mr. Kim received an LL.M. degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, an LL.B. degree from Yonsei University. Mr. Kim is admitted to practice law in New York, and is also licensed as a Foreign Legal Consultant in Korea.

Recently recognized as the Private Equity Law Firm of the Year by the Global M&A Network, Holland & Knight regularly ranks among the leading M&A and private equity law firms in reputable, benchmarking league tables published by Bloomberg, LSEG, Mergermarket, PitchBook and The Deal. Through the HK Deal Flow℠ program, Holland & Knight facilitates deal leads for clients and prospective clients by matching acquisition or capital raising opportunities with buyers and investors.
