Conor Larkin joined global law firm Hogan Lovells’ corporate and finance practice group as a partner in the mergers and acquisitions practice. Larkin will be based in the firm’s Philadelphia and Houston offices.

“We are thrilled to have Conor joining the corporate and finance practice group,” James Doyle, global head of the corporate and finance practice group at Hogan Lovells, said. “He is a sought-after dealmaker with deep experience advising clients on a wide range of corporate matters including domestic and cross-border M&A, joint ventures, financing and commercial transactions.”

Larkin joins us from Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he represented public and private companies and private equity firms spanning a variety of industries with a particular focus on life sciences, energy and adjacent sectors. His life sciences practice includes extensive experience structuring and negotiating royalty monetization transactions, including synthetic royalty financings, on behalf of investors, life sciences companies and other royalty holders. His midstream and downstream oil and gas work includes representation of master limited partnerships and negotiating major infrastructure projects and joint ventures, as well as long-term commercial agreements. Prior to Morgan Lewis, Larkin was an investor relations consultant in New York, and he continues to counsel public company clients on securities and corporate governance matters.

“Conor has a strong track record of managing sophisticated transactions across jurisdictions and sectors and he increases the depth and capacity of our M&A Group and our commercial transactions team at a time of resurgent deal activity,” Bill Curtin, global head of M&A at Hogan Lovells, said. “He is client-focused and his concentration on life sciences and energy aligns with growing demand and stands to elevate the industry-leading work of our life sciences and health care, and energy sectors.”

Steve Abrams, life sciences and health care sector co-head, said, “Conor’s experience in royalty monetization arrangements fills a huge need for us in the current market. Royalty financing and monetization transactions have gained great momentum as alternatives to traditional equity and debt financing, in particular, among life sciences companies who are looking for non-dilutive financings.”

Larkin said, “Hogan Lovells is on an impressive trajectory. I am looking forward to leveraging the firm’s breadth and depth across continents to bring full-service support to clients on their transactions around the world. The firm’s global reach, preeminent regulatory practices, collaborative culture and sector focus all align nicely with my practice, and I am excited to become part of the M&A team at Hogan Lovells.”

John Duke, office managing partner in Philadelphia, said, “We are delighted to welcome Conor to the Philadelphia office. Our lawyers here have built a reputation for handling complex M&A deals, particular in highly regulated and innovation-driven sectors. Conor’s experience in life sciences and health care, and energy, further expands our capabilities in those areas and broadens the firm’s commitment to the region.”

Bruce Oakley, office managing partner in Houston, said, “Conor has developed a strong reputation in Texas and we’re very pleased for this strategic expansion of our M&A team here.”

Larkin earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Boston College.
