Grant Thornton Advisors is adding Grant Thornton Brazil to its multinational platform.

The transaction will extend the platform’s reach into a Latin America market and follows on the heels of similar deals that will add Grant Thornton New Zealand and Grant Thornton Poland to the platform. The additions will expand the platform’s integrated cross-border footprint to include 16 firms spanning 20 time zones.

Grant Thornton Advisors launched its platform earlier this year with the support of an investor group led by New Mountain Capital. The platform currently includes Grant Thornton firms in the U.S., Ireland, France, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the Channel Islands and the Cayman Islands. Additionally, it has announced transactions with Grant Thornton firms in Spain, Luxembourg, New Zealand and Poland, which it anticipates closing in the coming weeks.

“Welcoming Brazil — right after New Zealand and Poland — is a leap forward in our mission to build a truly cross-border professional services platform,” Jim Peko, CEO of Grant Thornton Advisors and CEO of the Americas, said. “We’re combining talent, technology and trust across 16 firms and 20 time zones to deliver seamless, high-impact solutions. Brazil’s scale, momentum and strategic relevance make it a cornerstone of this vision, and we’re honored to have them on board.”

Daniel Maranhão, CEO of Grant Thornton Brazil, said, “Joining the Grant Thornton Advisors platform marks a transformative milestone for our firm, our clients and our professionals. Brazil is a dynamic, fast-evolving market and this move gives us the multinational reach, resources and strategic alignment to scale our impact. We’re proud to represent Latin America on a platform that spans much of the globe. And we’re excited to help shape the future of cross-border professional services.”

The transaction is expected to close later this year.

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Lefosse Advogados provided transaction services to Grant Thornton Advisors. The legal advisor to Grant Thornton Brazil was the Mattos Filho.
