Great American Holdings (GA Group), a provider of valuation, liquidation and real estate services, and majority-owned by funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, appointed Dan Shribman as CEO and Brent Shribman as chief financial officer, effective immediately. Together, Shribman and Shribman bring almost 40 years of experience in the financial services industry to GA Group’s executive management team.

As CEO, Shribman will lead the strategic consolidation of GA Group’s business verticals, drive the execution of its mergers and acquisitions pipeline with regard to transaction advisory services and spearhead the development of an asset-based lending platform. Over the course of his career, Shribman has led investments in dozens of public and private opportunities across various asset classes and industries. Prior to GA Group, Shribman served as CEO of investment firm Clamantis Holdings and as chief investment officer of B. Riley Financial. Before joining B. Riley in 2018, Shribman was a portfolio manager with Anchorage Capital Group, a special situation asset manager. He also serves or has served on the boards of approximately 20 companies, both public and private, including GA Group.

Shribman has over 18 years of experience in financial services, particularly in lending, private equity and real estate. He has a proven track record in financial control and analysis, financial planning and analysis and financial modeling. He is passionate about leveraging innovative financial strategies to drive organizational success and navigate fast-paced environments. Shribman has previously held CFO positions at Anchor Loans and Genesis Capital, both lenders in the residential private credit sector. Prior to Genesis Capital, Shribman spent almost eight years managing complex financial operations for Goldman Sachs.

“These appointments mark an exciting new chapter of expansion for GA Group,” Nicholas Basso, managing director at Oaktree, said. “Dan and Brent’s track records of operational excellence and investing acumen will make them fantastic partners to the existing management team as they help GA Group grow its robust platform.”
