King & Spalding added Chris Montgomery to its finance and restructuring practice group as a partner. Based in the firm’s New York office, Montgomery represents lenders and sponsors on the full spectrum of fund finance transactions.
“Chris brings deep experience in fund finance along with a collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset, which will make him a great asset to our fund finance team and an important contributor to our continued growth in this area,” Todd Holleman, co-leader of the firm’s finance and restructuring practice group of King & Spalding, said. “Chris will seamlessly integrate with our London fund finance team and help us continue to build out our capability to service the entire liquidity needs of sponsors at every level of the capital structure.”
Montgomery joins King & Spalding from Cadwalader, where he was a partner. He received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and his M.A. and B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.
“King & Spalding has a versatile platform that will allow me to expand the ways I can serve my clients and build a broader practice,” Montgomery said. “The opportunity to help the firm expand its trans-Atlantic fund finance practice while collaborating with this top-tier team was extremely compelling.”
