Eversheds Sutherland made several updates to its leadership team, including the election of a new member to its U.S. executive committee and new appointments to its litigation and capital markets practice group leadership.
- Partner Olga Greenberg, resident of the Atlanta office, will step into the role of U.S. co-head of litigation alongside partner Michael Bahar, after having served as a U.S. executive committee member from 2021 to 2025.
- Partner Kym Kochis, resident of the New York office, has been elected to the firm’s 10-member U.S. executive committee and will step down from her role as U.S. co-head of litigation after having served in that role for five years.
- Partner Cynthia Krus, resident of the Washington DC office, will step into the role of head of U.S. capital markets and investments as she continues to serve as co-chair of the firm’s global board. She previously served as U.S. executive partner from 2017 to 2025.
Krus succeeds partner Steve Boehm, who led the firm’s U.S. capital markets and investments practice for 25 years. Boehm will continue actively practicing at Eversheds Sutherland and remains dedicated to serving his clients.
“I am thrilled that Kym, Olga, and Cynthia are assuming these important leadership roles. Kym’s contributions on our U.S. executive committee, Olga’s guidance of our litigation practice, and Cynthia’s leadership of our capital markets and investments group will strengthen key areas of our business and position us to continue delivering the highest level of service to our clients. Their combined experience, strategic insight and commitment to collaboration will help drive our growth and ensure we remain agile and forward thinking in meeting our clients’ evolving needs,” Lino Mendiola, global co-CEO and U.S. chief executive of the firm, said. “I also want to thank Steve for his decades of leadership of our U.S. capital markets and investments practice. He was the cornerstone of building a preeminent practice advising clients on equity and debt offerings, fund formation and alternative investment vehicles, and his strategic direction of our BDC work and our annual BDC Roundtable has strengthened both the firm and the industry.”
Boehm has been with Eversheds Sutherland for more than four decades and is nationally recognized for his deep knowledge of investment regulation and structuring. Widely regarded as one of the country’s leading authorities on business development companies (BDCs), he advises many of the nation’s largest BDCs on complex legal matters, including public offerings and IPOs. Drawing on his early-career experience at the SEC, Boehm helps clients navigate the Investment Company Act of 1940 and establish both public and private investment funds. He is also a trusted advisor on structural alternatives for private equity and on the organization of Section 529 college tuition savings plans.
Greenberg has spent her entire legal career at Eversheds Sutherland. She advises clients facing complex and sensitive regulatory and internal investigations. As co-leader of the securities enforcement group, she provides strategic, proactive guidance aimed at minimizing business disruption, cost, and regulatory scrutiny while helping clients navigate high-stakes enforcement environments. She was most recently recognized by the Financial Times in its 2025 North America Innovative Lawyers awards program, earning Highly Commended honors in the “Disputes and Litigation” category for securing a landmark victory for Commonwealth Financial Network, successfully reversing a $93 million SEC enforcement action in the First Circuit Court of Appeals.
Kochis counsels financial services providers on a wide range of litigation and corporate governance matters. She provides deft representation for companies facing complex class action disputes, regularly navigating claims involving unfair trade practices, consumer fraud, tort and complex breach‑of‑contract allegations. A highly experienced appellate advocate, Kochis has argued before multiple U.S. Courts of Appeals, and in just the past five years, has successfully defeated or resolved more than 50 class actions, earning a strong reputation for her strategic judgment and steady leadership in high‑stakes litigation.
Krus has been with Eversheds Sutherland for over 25 years and has been instrumental in building the U.S. capital markets and investments group into a highly regarded team advising clients on sophisticated equity and debt capital markets transactions and independent counsel to the largest asset managers in the alternative space, with a focus on registered alternative investment vehicles and private credit funds. She is also widely recognized for having developed the firm’s practice that represents BDCs, which fund middle market companies through the fundraising efforts of retail and institutional investors as well as Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs). She is a leader in corporate governance and has been the author of Corporate Secretary’s Answer Book for over 20 years. In addition to her practice, in her leadership role as Executive Partner and Global Board member (2017 – 2025), Krus was responsible for the day-to-day management of Eversheds Sutherland’s U.S. operations. She continues to serve as the co-chair of the global board.
