Davis Polk welcomed finance lawyer Rob Morrison as a partner in the finance practice. Morrison will be resident in the firm’s Northern California office.
“With his deep experience in leveraged finance, including in the energy sector, Rob brings a sophisticated understanding of lender dynamics and market trends,” Neil Barr, chair and managing partner of Davis Polk, said. “I am thrilled to welcome Rob to the firm as we extend the reach of our elite global finance platform with on-the-ground capabilities in California.”
Morrison focuses on the representation of agent banks, senior lenders, lead arrangers, investors, private equity funds and other borrowers in connection with secured and unsecured syndicated credit facilities, direct lending facilities and leveraged acquisition financings in the United States and globally. He also has extensive experience advising clients on infrastructure financing matters. Morrison joins Davis Polk from White & Case, where he was a partner in the debt finance practice.
“Rob has built the leading lender-side finance practice on the West Coast, characterized by exceptional client service and deep and enduring relationships with private credit funds, banks, sponsors and other market participants. His experience across the full spectrum of finance transactions is highly complementary to our existing platform,” Jason Kyrwood, head of Davis Polk’s global finance practice, said. “Establishing a finance presence on the West Coast is an exciting opportunity for Davis Polk, and Rob is the perfect partner to lead this initiative and support the continued growth of our global finance practice.”
“Davis Polk has an exceptional reputation for handling the full range of sophisticated financing transactions,” Morrison said. “I look forward to working with my new colleagues as we expand our platform in California.”
Morrison received his J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2008 and his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 2004.
