PlainsCapital Bank promoted Frank Hastings to Coastal Bend region chairman. Hastings succeeded Gary Wilson, who oversaw the bank’s efforts in the region and retired on May 31 after six years of service.

Hastings will oversee and coordinate market development and management for the Coastal Bend region. He also will focus on building and maintaining key business relationships with local government officials, civic leaders, business leaders, and retail and commercial clients.

“For the past seven years, Frank’s leadership as market president has played a big part in our success in the Coastal Bend,” Jerry Schaffner, president and CEO of PlainsCapital Bank, said. “As region chairman, he’ll play an integral role in executing on the bank’s long-term growth strategies and reinforcing our position as a strong and stable relationship-based bank.”

Hastings has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry. Prior to his promotion, Hastings oversaw day-to-day commercial and retail banking operations in Corpus Christi, TX.

“It’s an honor to lead such a reputable group of banking professionals in the Coastal Bend,” Hastings said. “I’m excited to start this new chapter and help our Corpus Christi branches positively impact the businesses and individuals we serve.”
