Triumph Commercial Finance, a division of TBK Bank, added Jason Nichols as senior vice president and business development officer. Based in Dallas, Nichols is responsible for sourcing $5 million to $50 million asset-based and lender finance deals in the Southwest and Midwest regions.

“We are excited to welcome Jason to our originations team,” Ken Pardue, senior vice president and national head of ABL originations for Triumph Commercial Finance, said. “The depth of his relationships and his deal savvy make him a valuable addition to Triumph Commercial Finance.”

Nichols joined Triumph Commercial Finance’s originations team with more than 18 years of middle-market asset-based lending and sponsor lending originations, portfolio management and underwriting experience. Most recently, Nichols held an originations role at BBVA USA in Dallas, where he sourced and evaluated asset-based deals covering the western half of the United States. He targeted companies in various business sectors, including distribution, transportation, retail, information technology services and equipment dealers. Nichols previously held similar roles with Regions Business Capital, ORIX, American Capital and Merrill Lynch Capital. He began his career in investment banking with Bank of America Securities and Wasserstein Perella.

“I’m excited to be part of this growing firm based right here in my backyard,” Nichols said. “I look forward to capitalizing on the ability to source between bank and non-bank asset-based structures within a wide geography. Our asset-based lending product leverages well with the Triumph enterprise’s factoring, fintech and equipment finance strengths.”
