The Wall Street Journal reported JPMorgan Chase Chief Executive James Dimon was recovering in a hospital following emergency heart surgery Thursday.

According to the Journal. Dimon underwent a procedure to repair an acute aortic dissection. The Journal added, the procedure was successful, and Dimon was alert and “recovering well,” according to a memo sent by the bank.

While Dimon recuperates, Co-Presidents Daniel Pinto, Gordon Smith are running the bank.
