International law firm Clifford Chance advised Alter Domus, a provider of technology-enabled fund administration, debt capital markets and corporate services, backed by private equity house Permira, on its acquisition of Solvas from Deloitte & Touche.

Solvas, a U.S. headquartered loan and debt servicing software platform and services suite developed over 20 years by Deloitte, serves asset managers and trustee participants in the collateralized loan obligation (CLO) markets internationally and offers integrated accounting, modelling and credit risk solutions. The acquisition of Solvas expands Alter Domus’ footprint into India.

Alter Domus administers $2 trillion in assets for 85% of the world’s private debt managers, private equity firms and real estate houses. Clifford Chance has a long history of partnering with Alter Domus, notably advising the company in the United States on a series of  acquisitions, including the acquisition of U.S.-based Economic Assurance.

“We are extremely proud to contribute to Alter Domus’ expansion and be part of their growth story,” Neil Barlow, partner at Clifford Chance, said. “Clifford Chance’s integrated international network and diverse practices allowed us to provide Alter Domus the wide and extensive services needed to complete this transaction.”

Barlow and senior associate Eric Schaffer, both from the firm’s private equity M&A practice, led the multi-practice and multi-jurisdictional team that advised on the transaction with support from:
