Chickasaw Community Bank hired Bill Schonacher as its new CEO, effective March 4. A 32-year veteran of the banking industry in Oklahoma, Schonacher is set to lead Chickasaw Community Bank towards a new era of growth and continued community engagement.
“Bill is a seasoned banking expert who brings a deep understanding of commercial lending as well as business and retail banking to our market,” Bill Anoatubby, nation governor of Chickasaw, said. “His extensive expertise in banking and his capability for enhancing existing services and adding new service offerings into our business model make him the ideal leader for Chickasaw Community Bank.”
Most recently, Schonacher served as CEO of IBC Bank Oklahoma from 2014 to 2024, and he previously served as president of IBC Bank’s Tulsa Region since 2004. Under his leadership at IBC, Schonacher played a pivotal role in aligning the bank’s operations with the state’s growth sectors, including oil and gas exploration, construction, manufacturing and business services. In his role at IBC, he directed all aspects of the bank’s network, which includes 41 locations that serve 30 cities in 20 counties across the state of Oklahoma and North Texas. This includes locations in Oklahoma City, Tulsa metro areas, Lawton, surrounding rural communities and the Dallas Metroplex.
“Bill is widely known throughout our state as a very capable banker and civic leader,” Dan Boren, nation secretary of commerce at Chickasaw, said. “We are excited to have him bring a fresh perspective and innovative strategies that will enhance our operations and our community engagements at Chickasaw Community Bank.”

Currently, Schonacher serves as the immediate past chair of The State Chamber of Oklahoma; chairman, Political Affairs of The State Chamber of Oklahoma; chairman of the State Chamber Research Foundation; vice chairman of Oklahoma’s Judicial Nominating Commission; board member of other organizations including the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, the United Way of Central Oklahoma and as a national trustee of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
Previously, Schonacher has served as the vice chairman of the TSET Board of Investors; a steering committee member of Forward OKC IV & V; board member of the Oklahoma Bankers Association; Leadership Oklahoma Class XXX member and board member Allied Arts. Additionally, he was recognized in 2020 as one of Oklahoma’s “Most Admired CEOs” and in 2023, one of the “55 Over 55 Inspiring Oklahomans.”
Schonacher earned his degree from the University of Kansas. He and his wife have been married for 35 years and have four grown children and three grandchildren.
Schonacher’s leadership comes as Chickasaw Community Bank seeks to expand its services and reinforce its commitment to supporting local communities and businesses. His strategic vision for the bank encompasses enhancing its financial service offerings and also strengthening its role as a community pillar through increased engagement and support.
