Candi Pavliscak
SVP & Chief Risk Officer – Business Finance Division
Mitsubishi HC Capital America

Candi Pavliscak has been a part of the specialty finance industry for more than three decades. She started her career in a part-time position at a local bank before moving on to serve as control manager at an alternative lender, where she was first introduced to asset-based lending and factoring. Pavliscak then joined Hennessey Capital in 2002 as vice president, overseeing credit and operations. Following the acquisition of Hennessey Capital by Hitachi Capital America in 2012, which was later renamed Mitsubishi HC Capital America, she assumed her current position as senior vice president and chief risk officer for the business finance division.

In her role overseeing operations, credit and risk, Pavliscak thrives in an environment of perpetual learning with exposure to diverse business ventures, all while fostering client connections. Through her efforts in implementing effective policies and procedures, she has significantly enhanced operational efficiencies, positioning Mitsubishi HC Capital America as a leader in ABL.

Undoubtedly, navigating a historically male-dominated sector has presented its hurdles. However, Pavliscak attributes her sustained success to her unwavering commitment to continuous learning. She emphasizes the importance of maintaining confidence in her abilities and composure amidst the dynamic pace of the specialty finance realm as key factors in her achievements.

Pavliscak’s impact on the industry is apparent in her management of successful teams throughout her career and her role as a mentor within her current company. To that end, Pavliscak advises her mentees to always keep learning, build relationships, take good care of their teams, be authentic, be open-minded and only focus on what they can control.

Pavliscak aims to further develop her leadership skills by adeptly managing larger and more diverse teams while also continuing to serve as a mentor to her colleagues. She is committed to ongoing growth and fostering a supportive environment for those under her guidance.
