Bow River Capital, a Denver-based alternative asset manager, has appointed investment banking veteran Mark Hantho as Executive Chairman, effective September 8, 2025.
Hantho brings more than 35 years of investment banking and capital markets experience to the role. Most recently, he served as Vice Chairman, Banking, Capital Markets, and Advisory at Citi. Previously, he was Chairman of Deutsche Bank Securities and Global Head of Equity Capital Markets at Deutsche Bank. He also held similar roles at Bank of America Corporation and Morgan Stanley.
“The addition of Mark to the Bow River team strengthens our position as the premier investment management firm in the Rodeo Region,” said Blair Richardson, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Bow River Capital. “Mark’s deep investment banking experience, thorough command of the capital markets and international reputation will strengthen Bow River’s standing throughout the U.S. and beyond.”
Hantho will join Bow River Capital‘s Executive Committee, which develops and executes the firm’s strategy. He will play an integral role in business development and fundraising activities, working with the Investor Relations team to maintain strong relationships with existing investors while expanding the investor base. He will also leverage his investment banking expertise as the firm explores capital financing transactions.
“As a long-time Bow River investor, I have enormous respect for Bow River Capital and the business that Blair and his colleagues have built during the last 22 years,” Hantho said.
Hantho holds an MBA from IMD business school in Lausanne, Switzerland, and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.
