Barclay Damon has elected David Burch to the position of deputy managing partner, effective Jan. 1, 2026. Burch will work closely with the firm’s managing partner, Connie Cahill, to help lead and guide the firm and ensure its continued success.
Burch has been a member of Barclay Damon’s management committee for four years. As managing director of the Syracuse office, he has successfully led one of the firm’s largest locations among its super-regional platform of offices. Burch has made this contribution while sustaining one of the largest practices in the firm in the areas of white-collar and regulatory litigation and compliance, working closely with a team of the firm’s highest performing lawyers and most significant clients.
Burch serves as co-chair of the firm’s white collar and government investigations practice area. An experienced litigator, he routinely handles complex disputes, particularly in commercial litigation, internal investigations and white-collar defense. Burch has served as lead counsel in matters ranging from high-stakes governmental investigations to disputes with industry-wide significance. He also has extensive experience representing businesses in energy industry disputes before state regulators and between private parties across a broad range of issues.
“We are thrilled to welcome David into this important role. He has proven himself time and time again to be an insightful advisor, a dedicated leader, and a staunch advocate for our clients and firm,” Cahill said. “David will bring exceptional leadership, deep commitment to our clients, and a collaborative spirit that will help guide the firm through its next chapter of growth and success.”
