B. Riley Financial Earns Multiple Awards at 14th Annual Turnaround Atlas Awards

B. Riley Financial, a diversified provider of business advisory and financial services, earned multiple awards at the 14th annual Turnaround Atlas Awards.

Presented by Global M&A Network, the Turnaround Atlas Awards recognize the best value-creating transactions, outstanding firms, professionals and leaders for their significant achievements in restructuring, insolvency and distressed investing. B. Riley was awarded in the following categories:

Corporate Turnaround of the Year: ABC Carpet & Home
B. Riley Securities served as investment banker to ABC Carpet & Home in its restructuring and sale to 888 Capital, led by Perry Mandarino, senior managing director and head of corporate restructuring.

Energy Restructuring of the Year: Limetree Bay Refining
B. Riley Advisory Services served as restructuring advisor to Limetree Bay Refining in its Chapter 11 sale to Port Hamilton Refining and Transportation, led by senior managing director, Mark Shapiro who acted as Limetree’s chief restructuring officer.

Healthcare Restructuring of the Year: Buckingham Senior Living Community
B. Riley Advisory Services acted as restructuring advisor to Buckingham Senior Living Community, led by senior managing director Tom Buck who was also named among Global M&A Network’s top restructuring and turnaround professionals of 2022.

Global M&A Network also recognized B. Riley for its involvement in several additional winning transactions announced during this year’s Turnaround Atlas Awards ceremony:

Corporate Turnaround of the Year (small/mid-markets): Ruby Tuesday
FocalPoint Partners (a B. Riley Financial company) served as investment banker to the debtor in its voluntary Chapter 11 restructuring, led by managing director Richard NeJame, a member of FocalPoint’s special situations team.

Private Equity Acquisition / Turnaround of the Year (small): Gorham Paper & Tissue
B. Riley Securities served as investment banker to Gorham Paper & Tissue in its sale to Behrens Investment Group, led by senior managing director Matthew Spain.

Private Equity Acquisition / Turnaround of the Year (small/mid-markets): In-Shape Health Clubs
B. Riley acted as real estate advisor to the debtor, led by Michael Jerbich, president of B. Riley Real Estate, in connection with the Chapter 11 sale of In-Shape Health Clubs to Aquiline Capital Partners.

Liquidation of the Year: Medley
B. Riley Securities acted as investment banker to the debtor in its Chapter 11 liquidation, led by managing director Adam Rosen.
