CohnReznick, a professional services firm, appointed Farrukh Ashfaq as managing director in its growing transaction advisory services (TAS) practice. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Ashfaq will lead a high-performing team focused on delivering strategic M&A advisory services to private equity firms and corporate clients across a broad range of industries.
With more than 15 years of experience, Ashfaq brings deep expertise in middle-market private and public sector transactions. His advisory work spans financial, accounting, tax, technology and operational diligence for clients executing acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and structured investments. He also provides strategic guidance to growth-stage businesses, helping them navigate complex financial decisions and operational challenges.
Ashfaq has led numerous local and cross-border M&A transactions across sectors including IT/tech-enabled services, manufacturing, business services, consumer products and financial services. He specializes in financial and accounting due diligence and has a strong background in strategy consulting, both in the U.S. and internationally, supporting startups with business planning, feasibility studies and product launch strategies.
Ashfaq’s international transaction experience is a key asset to CohnReznick’s global client base. He has worked extensively across the Americas, Asia Pacific and Middle East/North Africa regions, providing corporate finance, transaction services and valuations for businesses operating in diverse markets. His global portfolio includes advising sovereign wealth funds on cross-border investments and strategic partnerships, further strengthening his ability to guide clients through complex international deal environments.
