NEW YORK – Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), a leading global professional services firm, has appointed Andrew Harris as Managing Director in its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) Group and Co-Leader of the Commercial Excellence service line. Harris will focus on helping private equity (PE) clients uncover growth opportunities and optimize portfolio company performance.

Harris’ addition accelerates A&M’s Commercial Excellence service line, which helps PE firms enhance revenue growth and operational efficiencies, reflecting the increasing demand for sustainable and strategic value creation in the private equity space.

Expertise in Commercial Strategy and Portfolio Value Creation

Bringing more than 25 years of experience, Harris specializes in commercial strategy, segmentation and targeting, value proposition development, sales and marketing optimization, and customer engagement. He has led revenue growth and transformation initiatives across multiple industries, including industrial products, consumer goods, healthcare, financial services, travel, and hospitality, with experience spanning EMEA and Asia.

Nick Alvarez, Managing Director and National Practice Leader of A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement Group, stated:
“A&M is built on the bedrock of operational excellence. The Commercial Excellence practice is a natural extension of our heritage, aligning with our legacy of maximizing value and driving change. Cost-cutting alone is no longer sufficient to supercharge performance—PE clients need a holistic approach integrating marketing, operations, and sales. Andrew’s appointment reinforces our ability to attract top-tier talent to help our clients achieve their goals.”

Proven Track Record of Driving Growth and EBITDA Expansion

Prior to joining A&M, Harris was a Partner and Commercial Excellence Leader at EY-Parthenon and ZS Associates, as well as an Associate Partner with The Cambridge Group. His notable achievements include:

  • Leading the commercial transformation of a $2 billion home services business, optimizing its value proposition, brand strategy, pricing model, and sales process, resulting in significant revenue and margin growth.
  • Developing a Proposal Factory for a $10 billion healthcare logistics company, improving customer-centric proposals and increasing the win rate in enterprise accounts by 10 percentage points.
  • Driving the commercial integration of a $5 billion industrial manufacturer, optimizing routes-to-market, partner programs, and sales models, achieving a 5-point top-line and bottom-line improvement.
  • Establishing a revenue operations capability and omni-channel engagement model for a $2 billion technology company, accelerating customer acquisition and revenue growth.

Strengthening A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement Capabilities

Markus Lahrkamp, Managing Director and Leader of A&M’s Commercial and Operational Group in PEPI, commented:
“Private equity clients face multiple challenges and need an integrated approach to uncover new growth opportunities and margin expansion. Andrew’s leadership in portfolio value creation and commercial transformation strengthens our ability to provide innovative, results-driven solutions in a dynamic investment landscape.”

Cliff Hall, Managing Director and Co-Leader of Commercial Excellence at A&M, added:
“Andrew’s hands-on approach aligns perfectly with A&M’s results-driven mindset and senior-led engagement philosophy. His ability to connect strategy with execution will enable clients to generate sustainable margin improvements through optimized go-to-market models. His hiring enhances our ability to transform portfolio companies from the inside out.”

Harris holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
