AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, is expanding its retail practice with the addition of David Ritter, an industry expert with extensive experience building businesses and driving enterprise-wide performance transformation in consumer-facing environments.

Ritter brings more than 20 years of experience in building and scaling retail businesses. He is a strategic operations and technology focused executive and leader with a record of transforming corporate performance in B2C industries. He has a particularly deep understanding of the grocery business, with a focus on retail strategy development and retail operations, as well as significant experience in merchandising, supply chain and M&A.

Ritter joins AlixPartners from Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), where he was a managing director, following 14 years at McKinsey. He co-founded the consumer and retail group at A&M and led the practice’s marketing efforts. At McKinsey, Ritter led the grocery practice in the Americas for four years. He holds a BA from United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Ritter served as a captain in the U.S. Army from 1999 through 2004.

“We are delighted to welcome Dave to the firm as we continue to grow our presence in the retail space,” David Bassuk, partner and managing director, and leader of AlixPartners’ retail practice, said. “Dave’s focus on growth and scale will be an invaluable asset for our clients as we further strengthen the practice and expand our capabilities and reach.”
