Mick Goik

Executive Chair
Oxford Commercial Finance
By Violet Synnestvedt

With more than 30 years in the financial services industry, Michael (Mick) Goik has built a reputation for transforming organizations and empowering people. From his early days at Fremont Financial to his pivotal role at Crestmark Bank and now as Executive Chair at Oxford Commercial Finance, Goik’s journey is marked by strategic foresight, cultural impact and a deep commitment to helping businesses and individuals thrive.

Goik’s career is defined by growth and transformation. At Crestmark, he rose from CFO to President and COO, guiding the company from a $150 million finance firm to a $900 million enterprise with six product lines across the U.S. and Canada. His leadership through innovation and acquisition culminated in Crestmark’s sale to Meta Financial in 2018, where he oversaw commercial lending and a $4 billion balance sheet with over 500 employees.

While his business accomplishments are significant, Goik is best known for his people-first philosophy. He believes culture drives success and that employees — not products — are a company’s foundation. His approach blends humility, accountability and a belief in open communication and strong values.

Goik’s journey includes personal growth as well. Early struggles with ADHD and communication helped him develop resilience, empathy and self-awareness — traits he now uses to mentor others. Through ongoing mentorship and self-improvement, he champions leadership built on listening, learning and team building.

After leaving the corporate world in 2020, Goik remained active in small business finance, founding RHAB Investments and Oakhurst Capital Group. In 2022, he launched Oxford Commercial Finance to serve small businesses underserved by traditional banks.

Goik’s focus is on blending tech with human connection, ensuring relationships remain central in lending. He believes character is the most critical “C” in credit, and success is defined not by titles but by the people and companies he’s helped grow.
