NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Davis Polk today announced that leading structured finance lawyer Ryan McNaughton has joined the firm as a partner in its Finance practice in New York.

“We are pleased to welcome Ryan to Davis Polk,” said Neil Barr, Davis Polk’s Chair and Managing Partner. “Ryan has broad experience across multiple securitization products. He is an exciting addition to our elite global finance practice as we continue to grow our structured finance capabilities.”

Mr. McNaughton represents lenders, institutional investors, private equity funds, borrowers and other clients in a wide variety of structured and asset-backed financings. He focuses primarily on the esoteric asset-backed securities market, including significant transactions in asset classes including whole business, digital infrastructure (including data centers), music royalties, intellectual property and investment funds. He joins Davis Polk from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, where he was a partner in the Securitization & Asset Based Finance practice.

“Our clients – including our private credit clients – increasingly seek bespoke capital-raising and investment solutions across diverse asset classes, including whole business, infrastructure, IP, media and investment funds,” said Jason Kyrwood, head of Davis Polk’s global Finance practice. “Ryan is widely recognized as a market leader in these types of esoteric securitizations.”

Mr. McNaughton earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2005 and his B.A. from Williams College in 2001.
