Rachel Samuelson
SVP & Portfolio Manager
nFusion Capital

Rachel Samuelson honed many imperative skills early in her professional life, learning the importance of customer service and how to have difficult conversations. She then transitioned to the private sector in asset-based lending, though she knew little about finance at the time. After five years of mentorship and learning, Samuelson accepted the role of portfolio manager at nFusion Capital and was later promoted to head of portfolio management. In this role, she is responsible for managing a multimillion-dollar portfolio and building the portfolio group.

Samuelson helps expand nFusion’s reputation of being honest, transparent and able to provide extraordinary client management. She spends a lot of time with each client getting to know them and their businesses, which has led to client introductions, referrals and, ultimately, new business.

Because she is in her “second career,” Samuelson previously faced the challenges of self-doubt and limiting mindsets. Learning the nuts and bolts of ABL forced Samuelson to learn how to listen to her gut and trust herself. Now she strongly advocates for constant learning while building a team she can rely on and learn from.

As her career progresses, Samuelson’s goal is to empower younger colleagues with the information and confidence they need while granting them space to make mistakes and learn from them. Samuelson also leads nFusion’s efforts to get more involved in the communities the company serves, finding projects that bring the team together while also giving back.

As she continues to build the ABL portfolio, Samuelson wants to teach newcomers how much fun the industry can be and how much of an impact they can have working with entrepreneurs. For her, success is how many lives her team has positively impacted, how many companies they’ve helped and how many careers nFusion has launched and strengthened.

“I want nFusion to be known as the place where people want to work and where clients don’t want to leave,” Samuelson says.
