AlixPartners added Donald J. Schneider as its chief people officer, a new position at the firm.

In this role, Schneider will lead AlixPartners’ global people functions, including recruitment, compensation and talent management and development. He will be based in the New York office, serve on the firm’s management committee and will report to CEO Simon Freakley.

Schneider has experience in human resource leadership positions with international companies, most recently having served as group human resources director at Old Mutual plc in London. Prior to that he held a range of senior positions at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley in London and New York.

“We are delighted to welcome Don to the AlixPartners team,” Freakley said. “To meet our ambitious growth objectives, while staying true to our brand and our culture, AlixPartners must attract and foster a diverse and multi-generational workforce. With a three-decade record of strategic leadership in talent management and culture development, Don will help us achieve this objective by sharpening our ability to recruit, retain and develop the very best people.”

“AlixPartners is an industry leader with a first-class brand that is undergoing rapid growth and transformation, and I am excited to be a part of the next phase of their journey,” Schneider said.
