Avidbank promoted Geoff Butner to executive vice president and chief credit officer. Butner will replace Ron Oliveira, who is pursuing other opportunities outside the Bank.

Butner has 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry, spending eight years at Square 1 Bank as a risk manager and five years at Silicon Valley Bank as a senior credit officer. Prior to that, he was the chief operating officer of eFinance, a venture-backed technology startup where he led the engineering, product development, customer service, and sales efforts.

Butner joined Avidbank in 2016 as senior vice president and deputy chief credit officer.

“Over the past two years, we have seen the benefit from Geoff’s depth of knowledge, communication and leadership capabilities, and I am confident he can assist the team in taking us to the next level,” said Mark D. Mordell, Avidbank chairman and CEO.

“I have enjoyed my first two years here at Avidbank, and I look forward to help further expand and enhance the organization,” said Butner. “I’m excited to work with such a strong group of individuals who share a deep commitment to support and serve our clients.”

Headquartered in San Jose, CA, Avidbank offers financial solutions and services with a focus on commercial & industrial lending, technology and asset-based lending, sponsor finance, real estate construction and commercial real estate lending.
