Ankur Desai joined AlixPartners as a managing director in the firm’s retail digital practice based in New York.

Desai has nearly two decades of experience implementing digital business transformation programs across medium and large retailers and brands, with a focus on luxury apparel, convenience and drug stores and omnichannel retailers. He specializes in using advanced analytics, data science and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve clients’ marketing and promotion effectiveness, pricing and strategies to drive top-line improvement.

In addition, Desai has expertise in using data analytics related to customers and personalization that can lead to greater effectiveness of pricing, promotions, product design and loyalty programs. His revenue growth related offerings also include marketing effectiveness, campaign ROI, product assortment and location-based analytics. Moreover, Desai has experience with operations and cost optimization.

Desai joined AlixPartners from The Boston Consulting Group’s BCG GAMMA digital team, where he was a partner. Prior to that, he was with Impetus Technologies, a software products and services company, and he spent 13 years at Opera Solutions, a provider of AI services.

“We are delighted to welcome Ankur to AlixPartners’ fast-growing retail digital team,” Simon Freakley, CEO of AlixPartners, said. “His deep expertise in data analytics and AI and delivering innovative digital transformation solutions to retailers and brands worldwide will help our clients who are grappling with the continuous cycles of disruption and the need to execute their digital strategy with urgency, rigor and pace.”
