Todd Nakamoto joined Great Rock Capital, an asset-focused commercial finance company specializing in middle market lending, as a managing director of originations. Nakamoto will be based in Los Angeles and is responsible for expanding the firm’s origination efforts across Southern California.

“We are happy to welcome Todd to the team,” Stuart Armstrong, CEO of Great Rock Capital, said. “His strong credit experience and long-standing commercial lending relationships in the Southern California market will be an important driver as we continue to build on our recent successes in the region.”

Nakamoto joins Great Rock with 30 years of experience in asset-based middle market lending. Most recently, as a senior vice president at City National Bank, he was responsible for originating, underwriting and managing relationships for asset-based lending opportunities. For 20 years of his career, Nakamoto held senior underwriting, portfolio management and syndication positions at Wells Fargo Capital Finance, including the early days at Foothill Capital Corporation in Santa Monica, CA.

“I’m thrilled to join a team so committed to delivering innovative and flexible financing solutions to support the business goals of its customers,” Nakamoto said. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to help Great Rock provide valuable liquidity and growth capital to middle market companies.”

“Todd is an excellent addition to our growing Originations team,” Jim Clifton, CCO of Great Rock Capital, said. “I am excited to expand our coverage along the West Coast, as Todd will join forces with Steven Parker, managing director of originations, to structure and quickly execute unique financial solutions that maximize liquidity for our asset-based lending partner and private equity relationships.”
