Silver Creek Capital Management, an alternative investment boutique focused on developing unique investment solutions for institutional and sophisticated investors, hired Michael Callahan as managing director of business development. Callahan will be responsible for developing and executing a range of growth initiatives on a global basis and expanding the firm’s institutional investor relationships. He most recently served as a managing director at Investcorp, focused on institutional capital raising for its global credit business.

“We are delighted to welcome Mike Callahan to our leadership team,” Bob Ratliffe, president of Silver Creek, said. “He has a strong track record of successful investor outreach and other strategic initiatives that will be invaluable as Silver Creek continues on its growth trajectory. We look forward to leveraging Mike’s extensive institutional relationships and deep market knowledge as we continue to build our investment platforms and to meet client needs.”

“I am honored to join Silver Creek at this important time in its history,” Callahan said. “The firm has built an impressive business across multiple asset classes and has significant potential to expand its relationships with investors on a global scale. I am excited to collaborate with our team to pursue a wide range of attractive business opportunities.”

The addition of Callahan reflects the continued growth of the Silver Creek team. The firm recently hired David Matter as co-chief investment officer. Matter was previously managing director and co-chief investment officer of BlackRock Alternative Advisors.

Callahan brings more than 25 years of experience in business development and client relationship management. Prior to Investcorp, he served as senior vice president, business development at Shenkman Capital Management. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Millburn Ridgefield Corporation, Fidelity Investments and Scudder Kemper Investments (now Deutsche Asset Management (DWS)). He holds a BA in business administration with a concentration in economics from Saint Anselm College. He is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the Stamford Analyst Society.
