Nissim Cohen has joined CohnReznick as a partner in its expanding tax practice. Based in New York, Cohen specializes in providing strategic tax advice, managing tax compliance, planning and provision issues for clients in a range of industries including technology, manufacturing and distribution, transportation and consumer product.
Cohen’s extensive experience includes overseeing complex corporate, partnership and S Corporation tax compliance for entities with multi-state filings and/or an international footprint. His ASC 740 tax provision experience includes both audit and preparation of tax provisions. Cohen has led federal, state and local tax compliance engagements for small through large businesses, including preparation of complex federal and state returns.
Cohen is adept at identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities for clients that involve tax accounting method changes, R&D Credits, state apportionment, sourcing methodologies and state tax credits. His management of complicated year-end and quarterly audits of tax provisions for public and private attest clients have involved extensive discussions with audit teams.

Before joining CohnReznick, Cohen was a tax partner in a major audit, tax and advisory firm. He earned an MS, taxation, with honors, from Long Island University and a BS, accounting, cum laude, from Brooklyn College. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Nissim is fluent in Hebrew and volunteers at multiple community organizations including his local synagogue.
