Breslin, Young & Slaughter Expands into Traditional ABL Due Diligence

byBrianna Wilson

in People

Breslin, Young & Slaughter (BY&S) has made a significant move by expanding into traditional asset-based lending due diligence. The team will be spearheaded by Randy Laughner, who brings valuable knowledge and leadership to the group, along with Dennis Koga and Bejamin Roche, both of whom add depth and expertise to the new venture. This expansion aims to enhance service offerings and provide comprehensive due diligence support to clients in the traditional ABL market. Anthony Hope, partner, and Jennifer Reid, managing director, will be collaborating with Laughner to oversee the newly established team.

Laughner has over two decades of experience in the asset-based lending industry. Before joining BY&S, Laughner accumulated experience at First Capital, Merrill Lynch Capital Healthcare Finance and Bank of America (BofA). His work has been recognized through several prestigious awards including the BofA APEX Award, the BofA Spirit Medallion and the Merrill Lynch Capital PACE Award. Laughner’s extensive experience and recognized leadership not only enhance the team’s capabilities but also provide a solid foundation as we start this new vertical.

Koga is a seasoned examiner with over 10 years of field exam experience. Having worked in over 40 states and five Canadian provinces, across 25 different banks and financial institutions, he has strong risk assessment skills and his industry experience will be invaluable in helping to mold this group.

Roche has been in the banking industry for over eight years, with experience in field examination, portfolio management and underwriting. Roche’s experience in his various roles will be beneficial to growing the team.

“We are excited to announce the launch of our traditional ABL due diligence service, a strategic addition to our service portfolio,” Hope said. This new offering is tailored to meet the specific demands of the traditional asset-based lending sector, providing our current and future clients with thorough analysis and expert insights. We understand the complexities of the market and are committed to delivering the same quality and expertise that has made BY&S the industry leader it is today.”
