Clifford Chance Adds Capital Markets Partner Pandya in Houston

Global law firm Clifford Chance hired Om Pandya as a capital markets partner in Houston. Pandya, who joins from Latham & Watkins, has extensive experience advising issuers, private equity sponsors and financial institutions in registered and unregistered securities offerings including IPOs, SPAC transactions, high yield debt, sustainability-linked debt, equity-linked products, acquisition finance, complex liability management and both in-court and out-of-court restructurings.

Pandya has deep knowledge of the energy and infrastructure sector and has also been involved in many significant M&A transactions. His appointment further strengthens the firm’s global capital markets offering in the U.S. and builds on breadth and depth of the team in Houston.

“We’re delighted to welcome Om to the team. He brings valuable experience across the range of capital markets work for issuers and financial institutions, and for public and private companies on SEC rules and governance issues,” Lee Askenazi, co-chair of Americas Global Financial Markets, said. “He also adds capability in the active U.S. market, and his deep understanding of IPOs and other registered offerings is a great addition to our global capital markets platform.”

“Om’s comprehensive experience covering a range of capital markets transactions builds on our high-quality team in Houston,” Sharis Pozen, regional managing partner for the Americas, said. “We are excited to continue growing the best practice for our clients.”

“I’m thrilled to be part of the firm’s growth story in the U.S. and to be joining such an energetic team,” Pandya said. “I also look forward to integrating with the firm’s well-established global capital markets practice on both U.S. and multinational matters.”

The appointment of Pandya takes the total number of partners in Clifford Chance’s Houston office to 15, and he is the 12th senior hire in the U.S. in 2024.
