D.A. Davidson hired Ken Kantowitz within its investment banking division as director, debt advisory, strengthening the firm’s capital advisory team and financial sponsors group.
Based in New York, Kantowitz joins D.A. Davidson from Lazard’s Capital Solutions Group. He spent more than six years advising the firm’s sponsor and non-sponsor middle-market clients on both debt and structured equity capital raises. Prior to Lazard, Kantowitz worked for Société Générale in its North America leveraged finance group and Raymond James in its technology investment banking group.
“Given the private credit market’s significant growth and maturation over the last several years, it is becoming increasingly critical for financial advisors to provide both sponsor and corporate clients with best-in-class private capital raising capabilities across the capital stack,” Rory McKinney, president of D.A. Davidson Equity Capital Markets, said. “Ken’s extensive experience helping clients across a wide range of industries raise capital supporting a number of different uses and situations will enable D.A. Davidson to further capitalize on the significant momentum it is already seeing within its Capital Advisory business. We are excited to have him join the team.”
Prior to beginning his career in investment banking, Kantowitz graduated from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, magna cum laude, with a bachelor of science in finance and economics.
“I’ve watched and admired from afar, as D.A. Davidson has built an impressive debt advisory platform that consistently delivers superior value to clients,” Kantowitz said. “The firm is extremely well positioned to capitalize on clients’ rapidly growing need for help navigating an increasingly complex private credit market, and I look forward to working with the team to deliver significant growth over the coming years.”
