Colbeck Capital Names Budetti Head of Business Development

Colbeck Capital Management, a middle-market private credit firm focused on strategic lending, added Gregory Budetti, former director of capital partnerships and investor relations at Closed Loop Partners, as head of business development. In this newly created role, Budetti will work closely with Colbeck’s managing partners, Jason Beckman and Jason Colodne, to manage strategic capital formation initiatives and develop investment solutions that align investors’ interests with Colbeck’s core competencies in strategic lending.

Budetti brings over a decade of business development, investor relations and capital raising experience to Colbeck, as well as a deep understanding of private credit and a strong network of institutional relationships. While at Closed Loop Partners, Budetti managed strategic partnerships, client relationships and marketing initiatives across investment strategies, including private credit. He previously served as senior manager, marketing and investor relations at MGG Investment Group.

“We are pleased to welcome Greg to Colbeck at an exciting time in the growth of our firm and the private credit markets globally,” Beckman and Colodne said. “Greg’s experience serving in credit-focused strategy, fundraising and relationship management roles will be a significant value-add to our team and capabilities as we seek to continue delivering customized investment products to investors and creative financing solutions to non-sponsored middle market borrowers.”

Colbeck also hired Henry Chang as a senior vice president. Chang formerly served as a vice president and director of Asia-Pacific multi-strategy credit at Arena Investors, where he was responsible for investment sourcing and execution. He also shepherded the launch of the firm’s Asia headquarters in Singapore.

“Over the last 15 years, we have worked hard to create a team comprised of seasoned professionals with a unique blend of expertise across direct lending, asset management, investor relations and risk management,” Beckman and Colodne said. “The additions of Greg and Henry further deepen our bench of talent as we continue to drive growth at our portfolio companies and results for our investors. We look forward to their contributions to our platform.”
