McKenna Long & Aldridge announced Alison Elko Franklin, an associate with the firm’s Bankruptcy practice, has been named among Atlanta’s top 40 Under 40 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle . This year’s honorees were selected by past award recipients from more than 600 nominations for their career achievements and social responsibility.

Franklin is actively involved in numerous community service organizations and has been instrumental in the development of three pro bono projects to help underserved populations, including the Low Income Creditor Assistance Project, the Reaffirmation Project and the Georgia State University College of Law Bankruptcy Assistance & Practice Program (BAPP). She also volunteers with various non-profits such as Dress for Success, Habitat for Humanity, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

As a committed legal professional, Franklin also serves as a leader in various local and global professional organizations including the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation, the Turnaround Management Association, the Turnaround Management Association Next Generation Program for professionals under the age of 45, and the Bankruptcy Section of the Atlanta Bar Association.

At McKenna, Franklin focuses her practice on bankruptcy and commercial litigation. She has experience representing debtors, creditors, trustees and creditors’ committees in proceedings in Chapter 11 reorganizations, Chapter 7 liquidations, and Chapter 9 debt adjustments.
