Askounis & Darcy said that Ashley N. Parker and Amrit S. Kapai have joined the firm as associate attorneys.

A 2007 graduate of DePaul University, Parker represented clients in the insurance, property management and real estate industries. During that time, she successfully solo-chaired 11 jury trials, 1 bench trial and over 200 non-binding arbitrations. Parker concentrates her practice in commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Askounis & Darcy, Kapai represented banks in collection proceedings and creditor’s rights litigation, as well as middle-market companies in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court workouts. While in law school at Washington University in St. Louis, he served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Chief Judge A. Jay Cristol of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida and the Honorable Judge Kathy A. Surratt-States of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Kapai concentrates his practice in both bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters.

Askounis & Darcy represents banks, equipment lessors, finance companies, lease brokers and equipment vendors on a national basis in commercial and fraud litigation, bankruptcy/workouts, governmental investigations, collections, transactions and appeals. Askounis & Darcy’s experience includes representing creditors in the Norvergence litigation, Chrysler, GM and Chicago Tribune bankruptcy cases and Wildwood, EAR, Allied Health, American Screw and Sysix fraud litigation.
