Yieldstreet is redefining the alternative investment space by opening up access to various asset classes across the private credit market, a market traditionally only accessible by institutional investors and ultra-wealthy individuals.

Since almost the dawn of investing itself, unnecessary barriers have prevented most investors from accessing private markets. Some of these barriers are unjustified and unfair. This is the guiding philosophy of Yieldstreet, an alternative investment platform that has funded more than $3 billion in private market opportunities since its inception. Yieldstreet’s funds range across asset classes such as real estate, commercial, consumer, art, legal finance, venture capital, cryptocurrency and private equity. By opening up access to these assets, Yieldstreet ensures that all investors — beyond institutional investors and ultra-wealthy individuals — are offered an opportunity to create truly efficient, really diversified and more sophisticated investment portfolios.

In October of 2021, Yieldstreet launched a new venture capital platform, which offers consumers an opportunity to invest in private companies during their fastest growth periods, providing the potential to generate higher returns. Venture capital is just one of many asset classes that are most likely to be out of reach for the “everyday” investor. By opening up access to these asset classes and wealth-creation strategies, Yieldstreet is modernizing alternative investing while ultimately working to shrink the wealth gap.

“Expanding asset classes available on Yieldstreet is yet another advance that we are making to break the exclusive grip that the ultra-wealthy and institutions have as wealth-creation strategies,” Michael Weisz, founder and president of Yieldstreet, says. “Times are changing. They no longer have a lock on harder-to-access markets such as venture capital.”

Yieldstreet, which has been among ABF Journal’s Most Innovative Companies in Specialty Finance for three-straight years, remains actively engaged in monitoring market trends to add asset classes to provide an even more robust offering to all investors.

“Creating innovative new pathways to access wealth-creating opportunities is not just something that Yieldstreet does; it is who we are.”
