Sterling National Bank, the principal subsidiary of Sterling Bancorp, hired David Stansbery as managing director of franchise originations for the bank’s franchise finance division. He will report to Michael Haddad, executive managing director of capital finance at Sterling National Bank.
Based in Scottsdale, AZ, Stansbery will have geographic coverage responsibility for the Southwest. He will focus on acquiring new clients with established referral sources, deepening and expanding existing client relationships and evaluating and structuring perspective asset-based credit solutions.
Stansbery has more than 20 years of experience in the franchise finance space, including stints with GE Capital, CIT and Signature Bank. Most recently, he was senior vice president at BankUnited.
