Skyway Capital Markets Adds Devine to New Restructuring Practice

Michael J. Devine joined Skyway Capital Markets as managing director in the firm’s newly formed recapitalization and restructuring practice. Based in Tampa, FL, Devine will focus on sourcing and executing restructuring advisory and other corporate finance assignments for the firm.

“I am enthusiastic to work with the partners at Skyway Capital Markets in developing the new recapitalization [and] restructuring practice,” Devine said. “I am particularly excited about helping clients leverage Skyway’s broad network of investor relationships and the firm’s track record of executing unique transactions.”

Prior to joining Skyway, Devine was the owner of Excel Capital Advisors, where he represented both sellers and buyers of wireless telecommunication assets. Devine has 20 years of corporate finance, M&A advisory and restructuring advisory experience, including his prior experience at Gulf Atlantic Capital and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he provided financial advisory and investment banking services. Previous roles include completing analysis for structuring mergers and acquisition transactions and business reorganizations, including analyzing capital needs, identifying funding sources, business valuation, debt restructuring and crisis management.

Devine has managed more than 150 transactions valued in excess of $1 billion in value. For example, he managed Chapter 11 and Section 363 sell-side M&A engagements for a North American consumer branding company, assumed a financial management role during the restructuring and liquidation of a regional construction services company, and oversaw and managed a $30 million buyside M&A engagement for purchase of wireless telecommunication assets from a regional wireless provider in Northeast.

“Skyway has built its reputation as a team of problem solvers and, with the current environment, we are making our recapitalizing and restructuring practice a firmwide priority,” Russ Hunt, CEO of Skyway Capital Markets, said. “Michael’s experience and expertise will be a tremendous value for our clients navigating these challenging times and we are so excited to have him on our team.”

Skyway Capital Markets is a middle-market investment bank that provides financial advisory services, including corporate finance, capital raises, public and private offerings, mergers and acquisitions, fairness opinions, restructurings, and recapitalizations.
