John Scuorzo joined Evercore’s investment banking business as a senior managing director in its capital markets advisory practice. He will be based in New York and Menlo Park, CA, and will focus on advising clients in the technology sector.

“Evercore has built a world-class equity capital markets underwriting and advisory business, including serving as an active bookrunner on the two largest common equity offerings of 2020: Danaher’s $3.3 billion equity offering and PNC’s $14.4 billion sale of its common shares of Blackrock,” Ralph Schlosstein, president and CEO, said. “The addition of John to our team will enable us to continue to strengthen and to build on this success and to enhance dramatically our capabilities in the strategically important technology sector. John’s commitment to providing trusted independent advice to clients and to working with the owners and managements of rapidly growing technology companies will significantly enhance our ability to serve clients in this incredibly important sector.”

Scuorzo has been an advisor to technology companies for nearly 20 years, most recently as managing director with Citi, where he ran the technology equity capital markets business. Scuorzo has advised hundreds of companies, including Alibaba, Broadcom, CoStar, Despegar, Dynatrace, Facebook, Fastly, Globant, GoDaddy, GoPro, Grubhub, Guidewire, Microsoft, Ping Identity, Paypal, Palo Alto Networks, Pinterest, Presidio, Sailpoint, Slack, The Trade Desk, Uber, Upwork, Roku, VMware, Wayfair and Zillow.

“We are pleased that John has decided to join the Evercore team,” John S. Weinberg, executive chairman of Evercore, said. “John has built a strong reputation as a leading capital markets advisor to technology companies. His reputation for excellence and integrity will fit perfectly with our commitment to providing clients with the full suite of insightful and objective advice.”

“Evercore’s focus on providing high quality, independent and unbiased advice is highly valued by clients,” Scuorzo said. “The firm’s leading advisory, underwriting, distribution, trading and research capabilities are an excellent fit for the needs of the clients I cover. I am excited to join the Evercore team and to help the firm enhance its already well-established technology and equity capital markets practices.”

Evercore is an independent investment banking advisory firm.
