William K. Snyder has built a four-decade career leading turnarounds and restructuring efforts across the finance industry. From the outset, he embraced innovation. “I was the first at Buccino to buy a laptop,” Snyder recalls. “It changed how we worked. Modeling became faster, better. That leap into technology set the tone for my entire career.” He later co-founded Crossroads Capital and Corporate Revitalization Partners, eventually joining Deloitte, where he managed large, complex restructurings. “Deloitte taught me how to handle information-heavy deals,” he says. “It sharpened my skills for high-stakes work.”
Starting firms from scratch tested his resolve. “Scraping for work, building infrastructure, creating a culture — it’s all-consuming,” Snyder says. “New partners don’t always see those early sacrifices, but preserving the firm’s core values is everyone’s job.” He built CR3 Partners to reflect these values. “Client-first, merit-based, transparent. That’s the culture we live by,” he says.
Snyder’s greatest industry impact has been promoting turnaround as a core tool for lenders. “Restructuring brings process to chaos,” he says. “It preserves value and jobs.” At CR3 and through industry groups, he mentors emerging professionals. “We focus on turning knowledge into wisdom,” he explains. “And you’ve got to love what you do. I do.”
He sees opportunity in complexity. “Finance will get harder. Private credit and tech have changed the game. But principles — character, collateral — still matter.” Looking back, he says, “I’ve helped build five firms. We’ve done good work. I’ve also raised six kids. That balance is part of my legacy.”
His advice to new leaders? “Listen. Not just hear — listen. The smartest people I’ve worked with were the best listeners.” As the industry continues to evolve, Snyder remains focused on leading by example — and preparing the next generation to do the same.
