Veronica Hernandez

Collateral Analyst
Haversine Funding
By Erin Rafter

Veronica Hernandez has built a career centered on leadership, operational growth, and continuous learning. She began in retail, working her way from cashier to department manager—one of the youngest in the company at the time. She then moved into logistics, where she helped shape a newly created coordinator role and was later promoted to senior coordinator, leading a team of three.

Her transition into specialty finance began at Allied Affiliated Funding as a cash poster. Over time, she took on Notice of Assignments, collections, and client account management, gaining a deeper understanding of factoring’s impact on small and mid-sized businesses. The more she learned, the more she saw a path to long-term growth and real impact in the industry.

At Haversine Funding, Hernandez has led major projects, including the planning and implementation of a new loan system, coordinating training, and ensuring a smooth rollout. She developed internal process walkthroughs and launched Veronica’s Industry Insights, a resource simplifying complex topics for those new to specialty lending.

As a young woman in leadership, Hernandez has faced challenges—from being told she was “too young” to being advised to alter her appearance. Rather than backing down, she focused on performance, learning, and results. A strong believer in mentorship and learning across generations, she credits leaders like Gen Merritt-Parikh and Cheryl Mayo for helping shape her growth.

Today, she leverages AI tools to brainstorm and streamline operations and is developing an internal AI-powered portfolio analysis system. Looking ahead, Hernandez aims to modernize processes, stay adaptive to regulatory changes, and continue building a meaningful career through collaboration, innovation, and impact.

“This award isn’t just about where I am now — it’s about where I’m headed.”
