Washington Federal promoted Bryan Lutz to senior vice president and regional president in the Northern Washington Region. Tom Kenney, its current regional president, will be retiring effective February 2, 2018, after serving in this capacity for the last eight years.
Previously, Lutz held mortgage leadership positions with several financial institutions in the Northwest and Midwest. After joining Washington Federal in 2008, he assumed leadership of Washington Federal’s Tucson, Arizona Retail Banking Division as vice president and division manager before returning to Western Washington to assume the role of senior vice president and manager of Washington Federal’s Mid-Sound Retail Banking Division.
Washington Federal President and CEO Brent Beardall said, “We are pleased to see Bryan step up to this well-deserved leadership role. Over the decades, via both organic growth and acquisition, Washington Federal’s presence north of Seattle has grown steadily. I am confident Bryan is the right leader to continue to grow our customer base, raise our visibility and take us to the next level.”
In addition to Lutz’s promotion, Bob Peters, Washington Federal’s executive vice president and group manager of Commercial Banking, will lead the commercial banking teams in Bellingham, WA. Peters has more than 30 years of commercial banking experience in the Puget Sound area and is familiar with many of the bank’s commercial clients and prospective clients.
