D.A. Davidson & Co., a full-service national investment banking firm based in Denver, hired a team of veteran investment bankers to expand its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) practice into the east coast.

Edward Losty and Jay Junior, who will be joining as managing directors, bring nearly 60 years of combined investment banking experience with financial institutions. Peter Losty will be joining the firm as an associate. The team previously worked at Mufson Howe Hunter & Company in Philadelphia.

Before that, Ed Losty and Junior spent 17 years at Janney Montgomery Scott, leading the FIG investment banking practice. Combined, they have closed nearly 100 transactions, including M&A, branch divestitures, capital raising and advisory assignments, aggregating over $4 billion in transaction value.

The team will be responsible for leading and expanding the firm’s FIG footprint in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions and advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, capital market transactions and other strategic advisory assignments.

“The addition of Ed, Jay and Peter is another step in building out Davidson’s FIG franchise, which is currently one of the top three advisors nationwide, and also continues our disciplined plan of investment banking growth in targeted industries,” said Monte Giese, co-head of Investment Banking.
