The leadership team of the ChicagoMidwest chapter of the TMA announced its chapter has won four awards from TMA Global, which will be presented at the TMA Annual conference on October 5-7 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Each year, TMA recognizes “chapters that distinguish themselves by delivering excellent education, providing networking opportunities, helping their members drive business and promoting community service.”

The TMA (ChicagoMidwest) chapter was recognized in four areas

  • Operation Excellence (Large Chapter) in recognition of its development of five key operational tactics to drive the chapter’s activities. From this, the chapter implemented a pricing model that improved attendance, increased membership and provided training plans for its leaders.
  • Special Interest Group TMA Network of Woman chapter program in recognition of the development and successful execution of a plan to increase its membership numbers amongst women and position itself as the premier business development and networking group for women in the industry.
  • Special Consideration Chapter’s Scholarship Foundation. Launched in 2008 to honor chapter member Janet Intrieri, the scholarship has grown every year and has raised a total of $180,000, $67,000 of which has been awarded to 20 students.
  • TMA Emerging Leader of the Year Angela M. Allen, an attorney at Jenner & Block, in recognition for her exceptional involvement in TMA, including her service on numerous committees for the betterment of the organization.

“It is a profound honor to serve in such a wonderful organization,” current chapter President Aaron Hammer of Sugar Felsenthal Grais & Hammer remarked, “Our membership steering committee, our board of directors and our chapter administration are second to none. Their commitment to excellence truly drives the TMA ChicagoMidwest forward, and this extraordinary achievement is directly attributable to their tireless efforts.”

Hammer further noted, “I had the good fortunate to succeed my good friend and mentor, Dan Wikel of Huron Consulting, who served as chapter President in 2014. Under Dan’s vision and leadership, our chapter enjoyed increased participation from our many committees and empowered leadership from individual members to drive our collective success. We are grateful for his work, which made these awards possible.”
