Teresa C. Kohl has been promoted to SSG Capital’s managing director and Neil Gupta has been promoted to director. The promotions were effective January 1, 2017.

They are based in the firm’s West Conshohocken, PA headquarters.

Kohl will continue to originate and lead investment banking transactions, as well as manage SSG’s litigation advisory practice. She has 20 years of experience in restructuring advisory and has been a key figure in the firm’s growth. Kohl is a sought-after speaker on restructuring topics and an active contributor to the industry. She serves on the board of directors of the American Bankruptcy Institute and as an executive board member and vice president of conferences for the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) where she was the first woman to lead TMA’s largest global chapter (New York City) as president. In addition, she co-founded the TMA Global Network of Women (NOW).

Gupta will serve a critical role in practice development, cultivating and maintaining referral sources and client relationships, as well as leading investment banking transactions. He has experience advising clients on a wide range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations and private placements of both senior and subordinated debt and equity. Gupta is a CFA Charterholder and holds a certification in Distressed Business Valuation (CDBV). He also serves on the board of directors of the Philadelphia chapter of the TMA, the board of directors for the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project and the ACG New York Forward Committee.
